Join professional photographers Jay P. Fleming and Emily J. Carter on an adventure of a lifetime. The Galápagos Islands off the coast of Ecuador is a unique experience. Full of incredible wildlife, stunning landscapes, and clear blue waters brimming with sea life, the photo opportunities are endless. Cruising the Galapagos Islands on the Tip-Top IV, we will visit a variety of islands including Genovesa with a large bird rookery that has Blue-footed, Pink-footed and Nazca boobies, and the Magnificent frigate birds. Additional islands include Santiago, Isabela, Fernandina and Floreana. Accompanied by our local naturalist guide, you’ll enjoy abundant opportunities to add to your portfolio while learning about the region’s geology, ecology, and history.

Highlights

  • Photograph the unique and charismatic wildlife of the Galápagos, such as Galapagos Sea lions, Sally light-foot crabs, colorful green-and-red marine iguanas, Giant tortoises and birds including the Blue-footed, Red-footed booby, the Nazca boobies, Darwin finches and many more.

  • Witness evidence of the islands’ volcanic origins in distinctive geological features like Sierra Negra and Los Gemelos.

  • Swim and snorkel with sea turtles, Galápagos Penguins, colorful fish, whitetip reef sharks, and playful sea lions.

  • Learn about the human history of the islands, from early whalers and pirates to Charles Darwin’s famed expedition to today’s inhabitants.

  • Enjoy great tide-pooling on Santiago Island, where you may see sponges, snails, hermit crabs, and the endemic four-eyed blenny.

Meet your leaders

Jay P. Fleming

Jay discovered his passion of photography upon inheriting his father, former National Geographic photographer, Kevin Fleming’s hand-me-down Nikon film camera at the age of 13. Jay immediately developed an affinity to looking at life through the lens of his camera and what ensued was an exciting photographic journey that would eventually lead him to his career as a professional photographer. At the age of 31, Jay has an extensive portfolio that is sure to impress. Jay’s published books, Working the Water and Island Life, are visual narratives of the environment, communities and commercial fisheries of the Chesapeake Bay.

Emily J. Carter

Emily J. Carter is an award-winning and published nature and wildlife conservation photographer based in Annapolis, Maryland. She has led numerous photography workshops in the Metro DC area in the past seven years. Her work has been seen in numerous juried art exhibits, and published print including books, magazines and newspapers. Her work has also been displayed in several solo art exhibits in the Maryland area, including the National Wildlife Visitor’s Center.

RATE is $8,220.00 per person based on double occupancy.

Rate includes airport transportation to Quito hotel, hotel accommodations in Quito, Air transportation to Galapagos Islands, all entrance fees, cruise accommodations, meals and beverages except alcohol.

Rate does not include: Tips for guide and service providers, souvenirs, alcohol and round trip international airfare to Quito, Ecuador.
